Dr. Canan Birimoglu Okuyan is an associate professor in the Department of Public Health Nursing at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences, Turkey. She earned her MSc in the Department of Public Health Nursing. She earned her PhD from the Department of Public Health Nursing. Additionally, she was employed as a postdoctoral fellow at the Gait and Brain Laboratory / Lawson Research Institute of the University of Western Ontario. She pursued her doctoral studies at the Turku University of Applied Science in Turku, Finland. She served as a visiting researcher at Manchester Metropolitan University in the United Kingdom. Currently, Dr. Canan Birimoglu Okuyan serves as an associate professor in the department of public health nursing at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences.She serves on the editorial boards of numerous international journals.Her research has focused on older adults and geriatric, active ageing, and gerontology.
