Biography

Constance (Connie) Hotchkiss has been a nurse for 36 years. She attended the University of Connecticut for her undergraduate nursing degree and later earned her Masters in Nursing Education at the University of Hartford. Connie spent 18 years working with families and newborns as a Labor & Delivery, Maternal Child Health and Pediatric nurse. Over the years she found a passion for precepting new nurses and nursing education. She spent 4 years in Staff Development and Education at an acute care facility and then had the opportunity to start an associate degree nursing program at her local community college. For the past 14 years Connie has been at CT State Community College Northwestern as the Division Director for Nursing, eventually adding Allied Health and Veterinary Technology to the programs she oversees. Connie is an avid life-long learner and believes that all nurses should challenge themselves to explore, learn, and grow throughout their careers.
